TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A tornado warning that swept through Tallahassee on Tuesday afternoon put residents on edge and kept first responders busy as storms brought rain and strong winds across the Big Bend.
The warning was prompted by radar-indicated rotating wind. While the storm moved through without widespread damage, some residents described the weather as a wake-up call to be ready for severe weather season.
Tallahassee police Officer Santiago Serrano worked a traffic roadblock at Raymond Diehl and Olson Road after power lines came down. “They were able to clean that up, degenerate the lines and then once everything was established with the lines they were able to regenerate them now. I think they are functionally pretty good now, and there was a tree on the roadway and they cleaned that up,” Serrano said…
