Couple Allegedly Flees Florida Traffic Stop, Tosses Gun and Narcotics Before Grappler Ends Chase

A couple in Plant City, Florida, is facing multiple charges after they allegedly fled from a traffic stop. As per the police, a backpack containing a firearm and narcotics was thrown out during the chase, and a patrol vehicle deployed a grappler to bring it to an end.

According to a press release issued by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the incident occurred on Thursday, May 28. At around 6 p.m., HCSO deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

Near the intersection of Short Road and Pless Road, the vehicle’s driver allegedly refused to comply. Furthermore, as per the HCSO, the driver, later identified as 33-year-old Katheryne Tellez, intentionally turned toward a deputy’s patrol car…
