Hotter than normal ahead of increasing rain chances

Sunday remains mainly dry with hotter-than-average high temperatures throughout the afternoon.

Partly cloudy skies remain in the forecast with a limited 10% chance of a stray shower Sunday afternoon. Any showers that develop will be weak and track from east to west throughout the evening.

Although humidity remains comfortable, afternoon temperatures may feel a few degrees hotter than the actual air temperature. Highs will reach the low 90s again, around 93° in downtown Tampa. Remember to take breaks in the shade and drink plenty of water when spending time outdoors, especially if exercising.

Humidity, along with rain chances, will steadily increase throughout the week ahead. Expect the more typical rainy season scattered storms to return to the forecast by the second half of the workweek…
