HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A Mulberry man is behind bars facing a DUI manslaughter charge following a deadly crash early Friday morning.
The collision took place at roughly 6:45 a.m. along State Road 60 near Clarence Gordon Jr. Road. A 44-year-old man from Bartow was heading west on the highway riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. At that same time, 59-year-old Santiago Ruiz Rangel was behind the wheel of a GMC Sierra pickup truck.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Rangel was pulling out of a private driveway to head south. As the truck exited the driveway, it crossed directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle and struck it.
The collision caused severe damage, and the motorcyclist died from his injuries at the crash site…
