SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A driver remains at large after leading Florida Highway Patrol on a high-speed chase from Tampa across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge into Manatee County.
The chase began when the driver was clocked doing over 110 miles per hour on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Tampa and continued southbound on I-275, according to FHP.
Dashcamera footage shows the SUV weaving through traffic in Palmetto. Troopers used a PIT maneuver to spin the vehicle to a stop near Highway 41 and 21st Street East, but the driver jumped out and ran into a wooded area…
