July is bringing more than fireworks to Tampa. As the nation marks America’s 250th anniversary, ZooTampa is highlighting an important connection between celebration, conservation, and community.
Throughout the month, visitors can observe patriotic themed animal enrichment activities designed to encourage the natural behaviors of many of the Zoo’s residents. From frozen treats to interactive toys, these experiences provide valuable mental and physical stimulation for animals while giving guests a closer look at how modern zoos support animal welfare. Featured species include African elephants, Bornean orangutans, Komodo dragons, Florida panthers, Malayan tigers, and many more.
The celebration also offers families a chance to enjoy seasonal food, festive drinks, and themed souvenirs while learning more about the animals that call ZooTampa home. The first 250 guests to arrive “America Mondays” will receive a free commemorative bookmark with new designs each week.
Beyond the festivities, the Zoo is recognizing the people who serve the community every day. Complimentary admission is available through September for Hillsborough County government employees, City of Tampa team members, Hillsborough County School teachers, and active duty military personnel as a way to thank them for their service…
