HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said it captured a man who shattered a display case and stole $50,000 in jewelry from a Tampa store.
On Friday, deputies said 28-year-old Mahlique Booth posed as a customer at a University Square Mall jewelry store and attempted to steal a necklace.
When the store’s owner tried to fight back, deputies said Booth “assaulted him, shattered a display case, and stole approximately $50,000 worth of jewelry.”
