Paws And Patrols: Hillsborough County Firefighters, Deputies Team Up To Save Shelter Dogs

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – This Saturday, some of Hillsborough County’s toughest first responders are softening up for a good cause. Firefighters and sheriff’s deputies are joining forces with the Pet Resource Center for the first-ever “Heroes and Hounds” event, a community gathering aimed at clearing out local animal shelters.

Starting at 10 a.m. on May 9, Riverview’s Fire Station 46 will transform into a hub of activity. While the main goal is to find forever homes for adoptable dogs, the day is packed with demonstrations designed to show off the skills of the county’s four-legged professionals.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit will be on hand to showcase their tactical work, and the State Fire Marshal’s office will lead an arson search demonstration to show how dogs sniff out danger…
