Walking into The Sapphire Lounge & Supper Club honestly felt like stepping into another world… maybe Vegas, Miami, or NYC, but something totally different and now, somehow, Tampa. Before going, I really wasn’t sure what to expect with the live entertainment and vintage supper club concept, but within minutes of sitting down, I completely got it.
This is NOT your typical Tampa restaurant. The entire experience feels bigger, bolder, and more immersive than anything I’ve experienced locally. One second there’s a saxophonist playing Bruno Mars, then the next singers are weaving through tables, dancers suddenly appear, and before you know it, the room has transformed into a full after-party atmosphere.
One thing the owner (born & raised in Clearwater) mentioned that really stuck with me was how most places with a house band lose energy the second the band takes a break. Here, there’s intentionally never a lull. The second one performance ends, something else immediately takes over, whether it’s dancers filling the room with energy, singers interacting with tables, or the DJ stepping in later in the night. The goal is for the space to feel like New Year’s Eve every single night.
This really feels like something Tampa hasn’t seen before. The owner mentioned traveling all over and pulling inspiration from favorite restaurants and cities around the world, and you can genuinely feel those influences throughout the experience. The tableside cocktail cart is inspired by Mexico City, while the nonstop entertainment brings major Vegas dinner show energy mixed with Miami and NYC nightlife vibes. The level of investment here is honestly insane too, from the lighting and production to the decor and sound design all in partnership with local Tampa businesses.
We ended up ordering so many of our favorite dishes and cocktails based on recommendations from our server, Kevin Alexander (shoutout), who along with the rest of the incredible team made the entire experience feel personalized, elevated, and genuinely special from start to finish…
