High school asked to shelter-in-place due to police activity near Queen Creek

QUEEN CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) — An active police scene has caused a shelter-in-place for a high school near the Queen Creek and Gila River Indian Reservation border late Tuesday morning.

A notice was sent out to Casteel High School staff, parents and students, stating that school officials were notified about a police situation near Hunt Highway and Power Road. Authorities advised the school to shelter in place, but stressed that it is not a lockdown.
