When the United States celebrated its bicentennial in 1976, the city of Sylvania assembled a time capsule full of trinkets and local memorabilia.
For the America’s 250th anniversary, the city will unveil the contents at its July 4 Homecoming Picnic, showing a glimpse of what life in Sylvania was like a half-century ago.
A new time capsule will be made to be opened in 2076. Residents are invited to donate items related to the 250th anniversary or that represent life today. There must be two identical items for a back-up capsule, and they must be registered ahead of time at heritagesylvania.org…
