Tatum Park’s urban farm is meant to be a refuge from violence and a source of life‑giving food and education, but it has now been shaken by the killing of its chickens.
“The police called it a chicken murder. I’ve never even heard of a chicken murder until this happened,” said Sonia Flunder‑McNair, founder of Urban Wholistics and the USDA‑registered South Toledo farm for kids and families.
