TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – To some, bats are spooky, and to others, they’re the symbol of a superhero! This weekend the Toledo Metroparks are hosting the 2026 Ohio Bat Blitz at Wildwood.
“Really the idea of this event is to get a whole bunch of bat researchers together in one place where we have limited knowledge of the bat population, learn as much as we can in a two-day blitz of mist netting and other kinds of bat monitoring,” said Jay Wright, Director of Conservation Science with Metroparks Toledo
The Ohio Bat Blitz is put on by the Ohio Bat Working Group every two years, and they move it around the state to different locations. The public is also invited to Wildwood Metropark to see what it’s all about…
