Zepf Center awarded $1.5M for programs supporting behavioral health and unhoused community

TOLEDO, Ohio — With over 50 years of service across six locations, the Zepf Center will receive two awards totaling $1.5 million in federal funding to support programming needs.

The allocation, administered through the Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Mental Health Services, was announced by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur via press release Thursday, July 16. The gift follows turbulence earlier this year, when the Trump administration introduced and then reversed more than $2 billion in mental health and addiction cuts to federal funds.

“The need for mental health services has been steadily increasing in our northwest Ohio region and across the nation. Because of organizations like the Zepf Center, individuals are able to access the care and support they need, giving them hope and assurance when it can otherwise be hard to find,” Kaptur said in the press release…
