The Greater Toledo Classic began play Saturday following a shortening of the 54-hole Epson Tour event to 36 holes because of poor air quality. With tour contenders back on the course at Highland Meadows Golf Club, there was a positive reception for the resumed competition.
It was a day’s worth of waiting before the first scheduled groups teed off at 7:30 a.m. South Korean golfer Juniper Jang was one of the Epson Tour professionals who made the wait before beginning her first round.
“It was stressful yesterday in the morning because I was just waiting the whole time, but then I realized, there’s nothing I can do, and there’s nothing about the weather that I can control,” Jang said. “But it’s really nice today. I was thankful for that, and was just like, ‘let’s go have fun.’”…
