PETERSBURG, Mich. — A teenager died Saturday morning when the all-terrain vehicle he was operating struck a car backing out of a private driveway, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Harvey Richards, 14, of Dundee, Mich., was driving a four-wheeler south on Bacon Road, south of Todd Road in Summerfield Township, the sheriff’s office said. Just after 5 a.m., he struck an SUV driven by Donna Cole, 54, of Petersburg, Mich., that was backing out of a driveway.
Harvey and his passenger, Ethan Kitts, 17, of Petersburg, were ejected from the ATV. Neither teenager was wearing a helmet, officials said, and the four-wheeler did not have a functioning headlight and was not authorized for roadway use…
