Toledo man appears in Wood County court in 2nd rape case; judge denies request to delay trial

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — A Toledo man indicted a second time on rape charges in Wood County appeared in court Thursday, where a judge denied a request to delay upcoming trial dates in a related case.

Daniel James Sams, 55, was in Wood County Common Pleas Court on April 16, where he was granted an own recognizance bond, meaning he was released without having to post money but must follow court-ordered conditions.
