MONCLOVA, Ohio — Drivers in the Waterville-Monclova area can expect another change to traffic patterns this summer, as a new roundabout is planned for construction along Monclova Road.
According to the Lucas County Engineer’s Office, the project will bring a mini roundabout to the intersection near Monclova Road and Waterville Monclova Road, directly in front of Monclova Elementary School. It will mark the second of three roundabouts planned along Monclova Road and one of five total roundabout projects expected in the area this summer.
Unlike traditional roundabouts, the design at this location will feature a smaller center island. The engineer’s office stated a typical modern roundabout includes a raised center island roughly 100 feet or more in diameter.
