Historic 160-year-old Toledo Yacht Club property set for sheriff’s sale in June

TOLEDO, Ohio — The historic Toledo Yacht Club property, a landmark on the city’s riverfront for over 160 years, is scheduled for a sheriff’s sale this June.

According to court documents from the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, a judgment in favor of The Croghan Colonial Bank against the Toledo Yacht Club was issued in January. The court found the club defaulted on a 2015 commercial promissory note originally valued at $350,000.

As of the judgment date, the court determined the club owes $263,164.74 plus interest at a default rate of 8.25%, dating back to 2023.

The Lucas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WTOL 11 on Wednesday that the department received the Order of Sale on April 15. A deputy sheriff and two civilian appraisers have already completed an evaluation of the property…
