Maumee announces new city administrator, urban planning manager

MAUMEE, Ohio — Maumee City Council has selected its new city administrator after the field of 38 applicants was whittled down to four.

Joshua Hartbarger, deputy administrator and chief operating officer for the village of Whitehouse, will step into the position June 1, overseeing daily municipal operations, economic development and other functions of a municipality. It has been left vacant since Patrick Burtch’s retirement last summer.

Hartbarger was chief of the Whitehouse Fire Department before his work in village administrator, and is a registered paramedic and firefighter, according to a post from the city of Maumee. He has also earned degrees from Bowling Green State University, Ohio University and Owens Community College…
