“It’s mostly my fault”: Dog owner admits responsibility for pit bulls on the loose

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man accused of repeatedly letting his pit bulls roam free is admitting responsibility to 11 Investigates after neighbors say the dogs terrorized an Old West End neighborhood for years.

Jason Mack appeared in Toledo Municipal Court Tuesday morning for what was supposed to be a trial on multiple charges connected to his dogs, which a judge previously declared dangerous after a biting incident. The case gained attention after Paul Vagts, who lives on Cherry Street, contacted 11 Investigates, saying he was desperate for help after years of attacks on feral cats he cared for near his home.

“They come down the alley and come right up here and kill my cats on the porch and they tore up my wife’s car,” Vagts said…
