Lenawee County lottery club lands $1 million jackpot prize

LANSING, MI — A four-person lottery club is celebrating a big family win after winning a $1 million prize. The Lucky Leprechauns club won the prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s Cash Surge instant game.

“A few family members and I started playing the lottery together earlier this year,” said the club’s representative. “I bought the ticket and gave it to one of the other club members to scratch. When she said we’d won $1 million, I thought it was a joke. It was shocking and unbelievable!”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Busch’s grocery store located at 1450 West Chicago Boulevard in Tecumseh, roughly 30 miles southwest of Ann Arbor. The club elected to receive the money as a one-time lump sum payment of $693,000 rather than the annuity…
