Police: Viral video of armed grandmother raises more questions than answers

Tucson police have located an elderly woman seen in a viral social media video confronting a suspected shoplifter with what appeared to be a handgun outside a Ross Dress for Less store, but investigators say questions remain before any decision can be made about possible criminal charges, TMZ reported.

Authorities said the incident traces back to Aug. 1, when officers responded to a report of shoplifting at a Tucson retail store. Investigators gathered witness statements and reviewed available surveillance footage, but the person suspected of taking merchandise was not located at the time of the initial response, according to Yahoo!

The case gained national attention after video circulated online appearing to show a man leaving the store carrying multiple items, including luggage and bags, while a store alarm sounded.
