TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – One of the four suspects in the fatal shooting of University of Arizona student Erin Jones in 2024 has been sentenced.
On Monday, April 14, Marcus Ian Williams, 19, was in court and was given 14 years in prison and probation for five years. He had pleaded guilty to drive-by shooting and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
In court, the defense asked for Williams to serve no more than seven years in prison, due to complicated nature of the case and still not knowing who fired the shot that killed Jones. But Judge Casey McGinley said the court’s decision was not made with that in mind…
