Historic Okmulgee Commerce Building named one of Oklahoma’s most endangered places

OKMULGEE, Okla. — A towering landmark that has defined the Okmulgee skyline for more than a century is now on Oklahoma’s list of most endangered historic places.

The Commerce Building, located at 117-121 S. Grand Avenue in downtown Okmulgee, was recently named to Preservation Oklahoma’s 2026 Most Endangered Places list, bringing renewed attention to the future of one of the city’s most recognizable structures.
