TULSA, Okla. — The City of Tulsa held a groundbreaking ceremony as it begins its $8.3 million reimagination project for Fred Johnson Park.
City leaders said the $8.3 million renovation of the park, located near 61st and Riverside, will completely reimagine the area with the needs of the community in mind.
“Whether you live in apartments or a neighborhood, we go into our house, get out of our car, shut the door and you don’t always connect with your neighbor,” said Anna America, the Parks Director for the City of Tulsa. “When you’re out and your kids are playing together on the playground or your dogs are playing in the dog park or you’re passing each other on the trail, you start connecting with your neighbor.”…
