TULSA, Okla. — FOX23 spoke with the attorney of Tulsa restaurant owner Talal ‘Tally’ Jamil Alame after he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of larceny at the Sam’s Club in Tulsa and Owasso.
FOX23 reported Alame, owner of Tally’s Good Food Café, pleaded guilty to six counts of larceny on Thursday . His sentencing is set for March 4.
Attorney Brett Swab is representing Alame and said they had to choose this plea due to the state’s recommendation which he said is unreasonable.
“It’s not fair given the number of cases that are very similar to these fact patterns,” Swab said.
Swab said Alame was called the customer of the year at Sam’s Club and actually had a plaque on the wall.
“They all knew him, they all liked him, but they didn’t want to check him out every week because he was there purchasing a lot of groceries every week, so they all but made him go to the individual check out because it was easier for them, and he did not want to do it,” Swab said. “I mean there’s proof of that.”
