TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) said a man was arrested for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping a woman, as well as driving off with the child he had with her.
TCSO said on Thursday evening, deputies responded to a 911 call at Chandler Park in west Tulsa.
According to TCSO, a couple at the park saw a man beating and choking a woman in his car.
TCSO said the woman managed to escape the car and asked the witnesses for help. The witnesses then let her into their truck.
According to TCSO, the witnesses said 42-year-old Derrick Anthony Harris threatened them with a gun and ordered the victim to get back in his car.
TCSO said Harris drove away with the victim and their 9-year-old child.
