UPDATE (2/12/24) — The brother of a Tulsa woman who went missing after leaving a prom event for those with special needs said she has been found.
Tyler Vaclaw, the brother of Katie Vaclaw who was reported missing, told FOX23 she has been located at a shelter in Tulsa. He said the family is working with Volunteers of America to work through the legal process of getting her back.
Vaclaw’s family is extremely grateful for the tremendous response from the community, he said.

TULSA, Okla. — A family is asking for help in finding a Tulsa woman who went missing after leaving a prom event celebrating those with special needs.
The family of 40-year-old Katie Vaclaw is asking for the public’s help in finding their daughter who suffers from Prader-Willi Syndrome. One of the main symptoms of the rare genetic disorder is the inability to control eating.
Her parents said she is not on her medication and they are worried about her well-being.
Volunteers of America said she also has developmental disabilities and is described as 4 foot 5 inches, weighing around 102 pounds and has light brown hair and brown eyes.
