TULSA, Okla. – Saint Francis Hospital is getting ready to debut its own ambulance, equipped with a lifesaving machine known as an “ECMO.” ECMO is the most aggressive form of life support, but many hospitals and emergency rooms don’t have the machine.
Soon, Saint Francis said the ambulance will help transfer patients from other medical facilities to Saint Francis, so they can get support immediately during their ride, instead of waiting until they get to Saint Francis to begin the lifesaving treatment.
