Tulsa men’s tennis claims first American title in program history with win over Rice Sunday afternoon
TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa men’s tennis claimed their first American Conference Championship title in program history with a dramatic 4-1 win over No. 1 seed Rice.
Tulsa head coach Vince Westbrook said, “Today, everyone seems to have showed up, and, they wanted this, and, they came together as a team. It’s been up and down year. You got to give them credit. I mean, there was enough maturity. And, you know, they they put their minds together all of a sudden, you know, were healthy and they made their minds up that this is what they wanted to do. And, you know, we could have lost this two days ago. We could’ve lost it yesterday. And they the resolve was, one of the best of the teams we’ve we’ve had here.”
