TULSA, Okla. — This Mother’s Day, local organization Justice for Greenwood celebrated the birthday of the late Viola Ford Fletcher.
Mother Fletcher was a survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
“She lived a full life; more than a century,” said Justice for Greenwood. “Within that life, she carried the memory of 1921 and everything that followed. The loss, the displacement, and the reality that none of it was repaired in her lifetime.”…
