Walking Southeast with Neighborhood Response Team Officers

Neighborhood Response Team police officers have special responsibilities to respond to community problems reported in their precinct. Since Portland Police is severely understaffed, they usually have some convention police responsibilities as well.

On May 20th, THE BEE strolled along S.E. 17th Avenue near Tacoma Street in Sellwood with two Neighborhood Response Team (NRT) officers from Central Precinct – Portland Police Bureau Sergeant Michael Chapman, and Neighborhood Response Team Officer Laura Frear – about crime in the Sellwood and Westmoreland neighborhood.
