Body of St. Helens city administrator recovered from Columbia River

ST. HELENS, Ore. — Police said they have recovered the body of St. Helens City Administrator John Walsh, who went missing after reportedly falling into the Columbia River last Saturday.

On Saturday evening, officers found Walsh at the St. Helens City docks, near where he had last been seen on June 13; police said that the incident was an accident and no foul play was suspected. Earlier today, the city held a procession in honor of Walsh during the annual St. Helens Kiwanis Community Parade.

Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Columbia River Fire and Rescue, Multnomah County Sherrif’s Office, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, and the U.S. Coast Guard helped assist the city and St. Helens Police Department in their search…
