Beaverton man sentenced to 10 years in federal prison in fentanyl, gun case

BEAVERTON, Ore. (KPTV) – A Beaverton man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for dealing fentanyl and illegally possessing a gun as a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office – District of Oregon.

Federal prosecutors said 29-year-old Roberto Ochoa-Vergara sold fentanyl out of the trunk of his car twice in early 2025. Prosecutors said one sale involved more than 4.5 ounces of fentanyl, while another involved nearly a pound of fentanyl pills and a pistol.

Hillsboro police later found Ochoa-Vergara unconscious in a vehicle that was partially blocking a road. Police said they recovered more than $10,000 in cash, along with fentanyl powder and small bags of cocaine, heroin and meth…
