The Portland Oregon Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lake Oswego received an award for its rose garden last month and invites the public to walk around the temple grounds.
The temple was recognized by the Royal Rosarian Foundation, the charitable nonprofit branch known to some as Portland’s official greeters and goodwill ambassadors. The temple received an award for the “Best Commercially Maintained Rose Garden Outside of Portland” in the foundation’s 88th Annual Rose Garden Contest.
This year’s contest featured 92 garden entries across 12 categories, showcasing public, private, commercial and institutional rose gardens throughout the Portland metropolitan area. About 100 people gathered at the contest’s award ceremony in mid-June…
