PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – A suspected drunk driver was arrested Monday night after he crashed into a patrol car in north Portland, according to police.
Just after 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, an officer traveling westbound on North Princeton Street saw a Jeep stopped in the middle of the road with a man slumped over inside.
The officer stopped to investigate when the Jeep accelerated at about 10 mph and crashed into the patrol car. The Jeep then backed up and the officer activated his emergency overhead light, causing the driver to stop.
The driver, identified by police as 56-year-old Avtar Singh, of Vancouver, consented to field sobriety tests. He was later arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving…
