Virginia Beach woman charged after police say ShotSpotter detects gunfire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia Beach woman was arrested after police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and determined she had fired a handgun following a domestic dispute.

Officers with the Virginia Beach Police Department responded around 1:30 a.m. Monday to the 3000 block of Scarborough Way after receiving a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire in the area.

While canvassing the neighborhood, officers encountered 31-year-old Mila Allen of Virginia Beach. According to police, the investigation revealed Allen had discharged a 9mm handgun following a domestic dispute…
