NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A new temporary, but long-term, traffic split is scheduled to begin on I-64 East at Tidewater Drive in Norfolk as early as Friday, May 29.
Contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will implement the new pattern as part of construction for the Hampton Roads Express Lanes (HREL) Norfolk Segment.
Under the new traffic pattern, the inside lane of I-64 East will close, with traffic from that lane shifting left onto the inside shoulder to create a temporary travel lane.
