Chesapeake shed fire spreads to townhouses

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A Chesapeake shed fire on Thursday has displaced a family from their home in the Western Branch area of the city.

The Chesapeake Fire Department said they were called to the 3800 block of Sir Francis Drake Drive around 1:30 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about a shed fire. Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a shed behind a townhouse.

The fire was marked under control by 2:30 p.m., but two nearby townhouses sustained damage on the outside due to the intense heat exposure. The shed fire didn’t spread to any of the nearby homes…
