Swimming advisory issued for 3 Norfolk beaches

NORFOLK, Va., (WAVY) — A swimming advisory has been issued for three beaches in Norfolk due to high levels of bacteria in the water, according to the Norfolk Department of Public Health.

Please use caution and avoid swimming at these beaches until further notice: North Community Beach, Ocean View Park, 13th View.

Current swimming advisories in Hampton Roads area

Water samples were collected yesterday and showed enterococci bacteria levels that are above the state water quality standards. This type of bacteria can cause infections.

Health officials will continue testing the water. Once the bacteria levels return to acceptable standards, the advisories will be lifted…
