Early construction is scheduled to begin this summer on one of Virginia Beach’s most anticipated flood mitigation efforts — a coordinated package of projects spanning Windsor Woods, Princess Anne Plaza, and The Lakes neighborhoods.
The milestone comes from the city’s second-quarter Flood Protection Program progress report, which was briefed to City Council in late June. The so-called “Mega Bundle” covers all three neighborhoods as an integrated system — and the start of field activity this quarter marks a significant step for residents who have watched the project work through design phases.
Residents in those neighborhoods may begin seeing visible activity near their streets as early construction gets underway — the kind of on-the-ground work that typically brings equipment, staging, and ditch or drainage improvements into the neighborhood.
Two projects finished, two more underway
The Mega Bundle isn’t the only news from the past few months…
