NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — William Delanor Stone Jr., 62, was sentenced in June 2026 to two years and four months in prison for breaking into the Huntersville Community Center in the summer of 2024, which added to his sentences for several other break-ins.
Stone was previously sentenced to five years in Oct. 2025 for two separate break-ins that he committed in Olde Huntersville and Ghent in early 2025.

Stone broke into the Huntersville Community Center on Aug. 27, 2024, and stole a television. Forensic investigators collected a sample of the blood, which they submitted to the Virginia Department of Forensic Sciences for DNA analysis and comparison against the Virginia DNA databank of known offenders.
The 2024 case was unsolved for over a year, but Mr. Stone was discovered to be the culprit because he cut himself on glass while breaking into the facility, as DNA testing of the crime scene blood revealed.
On Oct. 5, 2025, Stone was sentenced to serve five years in prison, with no time suspended, and to complete six months of post-release supervision.
