VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — After nearly three hours of discussion and a public hearing, Virginia Beach City Council voted 10-1 in favor of an all-ages Oceanfront curfew from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights through the end of April.
The curfew area will extend from Rudee Loop to 31st Street on Atlantic and Pacific avenues. The curfew will be in effect this Friday starting at 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. Saturday and from 9:30 p.m. Saturday night until 5 a.m. Sunday. It will also be in effect for the following weekend, from 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 24 through 5 a.m. Saturday, April 25. There will not be a curfew for Saturday night, April 25, because of a previously scheduled event that will be going on later that evening — the Stars, Stripes, and Spurs Virginia Beach Military Appreciation Weekend.
