VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A doctor pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors after being misrepresented at the Virginia Surgical Center. Kent Reifschneider pleaded guilty to assault and battery and accessory before the fact. He was initially sentenced to 12 months for each charge. Both sentences have been suspended on the condition of 12 months of good behavior. Reifschneider can no longer work for any business performing hair transplant procedures or perform any hair transplant procedures himself.
The Virginia Surgical Center misrepresented to prospective patients that Kent Reifschneider was involved with their surgical center. In February of 2023, a man arrived in the morning for a Follicular Unit Extraction procedure and was greeted by Reifschneider, who introduced himself as the doctor. Reifschneider asked the patient to sign consent paperwork without going over it with him and then left, not returning until 6:30 p.m. Two unlicensed professionals, Linda Carnazza and Allya Godwin performed the FUE surgery on the patient without medical supervision, including the administration of local anesthesia, according to court documents. Linda Carnazza, was arrested for allegedly performing hair transplants without a license in 2023.
