Coastal low to send rain and swell to the east coast this weekend

Typically, the month of May brings many more opportunities to get out to the beach and on the water. However, some cooler air and weekend rain looks to spoil those plans as we head into the new month.

On Friday, we will have a mix of sun and clouds. It would be a nice beach day if it weren’t for the northerly winds. These winds at 10-15mph will keep temperatures cool, with highs in the mid 60s. On Saturday, an area of low pressure to our south will push rain chances our way. The rain will be steadier for North Carolina. Southeast Virginia will see scattered rain on and off during the day. It will be a chilly day with highs near the coast in the low 60s. On Sunday, we will dry out, and the skies will clear. High temperatures will stay below average, though, in the 60s. Another warm-up will occur next week.
