DC Police issue 2 juvenile curfew zones for this weekend

WASHINGTON — DC Police issued two new juvenile curfew zones for this weekend starting on Friday. The zones focus on Navy Yard and the Waterfront.

These curfew zones will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. During that time, groups of nine or more children are prohibited from gathering in juvenile curfew zones, unless engaged in certain exempted activities, which are listed here.

The perimeter of the Navy Yard Juvenile Curfew Zone is as follows:

  • To the north: I-695 from South Capitol Street to 8th Street, SE
  • To the east: 8th Street from I-695 to the Anacostia River
  • To the south: Anacostia River
  • To the west: South Capitol Street, SE from the Anacostia River to I-695

The perimeter of the Waterfront Juvenile Curfew Zone is as follows:

  • To the north: I-695 from Washington Channel to South Capitol Street, SW
  • To the east: South Capitol Street, SW between I-695 and the Anacostia River
  • To the south:
  • P Street, SW, from the Washington Channel to 2nd Street, SW
  • Anacostia River from 2nd Street, SW, to South Capitol Street, SW
  • To the west:
  • Washington Channel from I-695 to P Street, SW
  • 2nd Street, SW, from P Street, SW, to Anacostia River.

The juvenile curfew is in addition to a citywide curfew and is in effect for all juveniles under 18 beginning nightly at 11 p.m., lasting until 6 a.m. the following morning…
