Small towns in rural Washington make big moves to support families

As many Washington residents feel the strain of the rising cost of living, some rural communities are finding creative ways to address major challenges facing children and families.

A small pre-K-12 school about 50 miles southwest of Spokane is the first in the state to complete a Giving Grid project, with solar panels built at no cost through a grant from the state’s Community Solar Expansion Program.
