16-year-old found with 2 guns after Northeast DC shooting

WASHINGTON (7News) — A 16-year-old faces gun charges after he was found with two firearms after a shooting at a church in Northeast D.C. on Monday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Two men were shot at the house of worship in the 700 block of 18th Street, Northeast, just after 4 p.m. Both men were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK, according to police.

Investigators said the men were with a group of people in a fenced-in utility area on the church’s property toward the back of the building. Officers said at least one person in the group opened fire, hitting the two men, before taking off. Police did not say what might have sparked the gunfire…
