Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding while many of us are sleeping.
The 7News First Alert Weather Team has declared a First Alert Weather Day as a Flood Watch goes into effect late tonight through Wednesday morning for much of the D.C. metro.
The biggest concern isn’t severe storms—it’s torrential rainfall that could quickly overwhelm roads, creeks and streams, especially before daybreak.
Who’s under the Flood Watch?
The Flood Watch includes:
- Washington, D.C.
- Maryland: Prince George’s County, Charles County and central/southeast Montgomery County
- Virginia: Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park, Stafford, Spotsylvania and southern Fauquier counties
